Layton Surf & Swim

A couple of weeks ago Dan, Kennedy, Mallory, Lillian & I went to Layton Surf & Swim. It was the first time we took Kennedy swimming without having a class. She had fun but was really tired after only a few minutes. Well soon after we arrived we got kicked out of the pool because someone had pooped in it. They said it would be an hour before anyone could get back in. First, Kennedy couldn't handle waiting an hour. Second, I was not getting back in that pool. It might take a long time before I can stomach getting back in that pool.
So our neighbors rant and rave about how cool the Roy pool is. So I think Kennedy and I will head there soon. Most people in our neighborhood have a season pass to Cherry Hill and they go there several times a week. I guess it is the cool thing to do if you are a stay at home mom. I would love to get a Cherry Hill Pass when Kennedy is older but Lagoon and Cherry Hill are the same price; which I think is absolutely CRAZY! So I would prefer to have a Lagoon pass.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS

1- Anything financial. (that has been my obsessions for years and years. I think it is in my blood and I will never get rid of it.) Whether it is reading financial books or studying the stock market; I just love it!
2- Trying to watch TV. Now that I am a mom it is very hard to watch TV. When we didn't have Kennedy I would DVR many shows but now the number has gone down significantly. TV is just not important like it use to me here are some of my current TV obsessions.

SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT ME

I am pretty much an open book so I tell you how I feel and don't really hide much. Anything I hide will not be put on my suprising facts:) I will still give it a try. I am sure people will say that is not suprising but maybe for one or two of you; you will be suprised.

1- I am now currently a part of the neighborhood gossip. I have learned all the crazy things my neightbors do some stuff is very amuzing. I doubt much of it is true but hey on Wisteria Lane anything can happen. I think it is funny when people say they hate gossip I just laugh because everyone does and they enjoy it at some point. It is just human nature. There really isn't anything someone could say about me that I would care too much about. I always try and get Dan to start gossip about us because I think it is funny to hear what the end result is. He won't do it. After all he is the President of the Neighborhood. (Self appointed but still President.) I really could care less what people think about me. As long as Dan and Kennedy love me that is all that matters.
2- I like cutting coupons and love the Sunday Newspaper. I love the coupons but I never use them except for the ones for formula and diapers I get in the mail.
3- I love Yard work!

4 Things You May Not Know About Me:

1. I love theme parks. I can't wait to take Kennedy to Disneyland, DisneyWorld, 6 Flags, Knottys Berry Farm and many more places. I didn't do many family trips when I was growing up and I think that is why I like to travel so much.
2. I love sports! I love watching baseball and basketball on TV. Dan & I are even starting to get into Nascar. I do however HATE Espn. If I have to hear about Brett Farve again I think I might go crazy!!
3. I want to go back to Europe! I went for work to England and it was amazing. London is so beautiful and has a ton of history. I can't wait to take Dan there some day. I love to experience other cultures and you can really learn alot.
4. I love to swim. Before I had Kennedy I would go to the pool at least once a week if not more. I like to lap swim; even though I dont kow much about it. I just kick and hope I go in a straight line. There is just something about swimming that I love. Hopefully one day I can have a swimming pool.

2. My neighbors lawn. We couldn't have moved into a better neighborhood. There are so many fun people. We just hang out on the lawn and let our kids so free.

Dan's Little Getaway!

Dan took a quick little trip to Denver for a Rockies baseball game. He drove down there which I thought was crazy and then drove back then next day. Which again I thought was crazy but he loves baseball. Dan went at a good time because Andrea came and stayed with us so I didn't have to be home alone. I really don't like it when Dan is gone. Plus, I never get a break!! So it is nice to have him home to give me sometime by myself. Of course Kennedy missed him but she loved the stuffed baseball and the squeaing monkey. I was glad Dan got to have a little getaway because he works so hard at his job. I really don't know how he does it. He is so good at what he does that if he didn't do it people would miss out on his masterpieces. :)

Kennedy's New Toys

Since Kennedy has learned to roll and then crawl she has gotten into a lot of things. She is really keeping me busy. I have to always keep my eye on her. If I take my eye off of her for one minute this is what I get.

Kennedy crying and throwing a little tantrum right before the blessing. She was very tired and hadn't taken a nap in awhile. Once the blessing was over she stopped crying and miraculously wasn't tired. She just wanted her bottle and was fine.

Kennedy got blessed on July 6, 2008 up at Dans Moms house. Her uncle Tim blessed her. She was very tired by the time the blessing happened and screamed the whole time so we didn't get to hear much. She looked so cute in her dress.

Kennedy's First Class @ My Gym

Today Kennedy and I went to her first class at a place called My Gym. Since the gym is still being built we met at Layton Park. We had a lot of fun. We met a lot of moms and other kids. The first thing we did was went around the circle and stated our kids name and ages. As people spoke I was shocked on how Kennedy really is big for her age. Kids that looked about her age and some were even smaller were 14-17 months old. I couldn't believe it. Now I have kids to compare her to it is a little crazy. We played a lot of games and out of the 20 or so kids from 6 weeks-13 years old; she was the only one there that was screaming on the top of her lungs because she was having sooooo much fun. Not only was she the only one screaming due to pure enjoyment she was the only one screaming while sticking her tongue out. There was this one game where we had to told them for a while and have them kick a ball. It was very tiring and one lady that had a 2 year old says this is a good work out he is 25 pounds. I am thinking oh my gosh Kennedy is 22 pounds and she is only 7 months. I can't imagine what she is going to be like when she gets older. I wish Dan could have been there to see how much fun she had and I can't wait to go back!!!

Oh by the way she did her first somersault there. She didn't know what to think about it but at least she didn't cry.

Kennedy is Offically A Crawler

For the past several weeks she as scooted her way around everything. Today she actually figured out how to sync everything up and she is crawling everywhere. Looks like we are in trouble. She is now attempting to stand up. Looks like it is time for the CAGE!!!

Poor Kennedy!!

Kennedy officially had her first accident the other day. We were sitting in the office and she fell back on the chair and cut her lip. It was a very sad moment because she was crying hard and she had tears. You can always tell when Kennedy is really hurt because she will have tears coming out when she cries and that doesn't happen very often. I told her that this will not be the last time you get hurt but your mommy and daddy will always be there to help you!!

Fun Milestones Kennedy has Hit!!

Kennedy is such a fun happy baby. We are very lucky!!! She has done some many funny and cute things that I would like to keep track of. This way when she is a teenager and we don't think she is being cute we can look back and reminisce on the fun and good parts of her growing up.

1. Kennedy loves to pull faces at everyone. She likes to spit with her tongue. If she starts sticking her tongue out at you that means she is having a good time and it is her way of saying I want to play with you.
2. She is scooting everywhere and getting into everything. She loves playing with the dogs and taking their toys. Mercedes will bring her her toys and they will play tug of war together. It is actually really cute!!!
3. When Kennedy wakes up she likes to be held. If you try to put her on the ground she will cry. Then you have to explain to her that she needs her diaper changed. So if you hold her for about 5 minutes she will be fine and then you can change her.
4. She loves to sit in her high chair. She loves Ritz crackers and wants to eat everything you are eating. We have had popsicles that we are eating and she screams for us to give her some. If we have any left and we leave the room she gets very upset. You don't mess with her and her popsicles.
5. She loves to sing. If you are in the car or watching a music video she will shout and attempt to sing along. It is very cute!!!
6. She loves the water. You put her in a tub or pool she wants to splash and do front and back floats. I can't wait until she gets bigger so Dan and I can take her down water slides!!!
7. She loves to eat shoes. Don't take your shoes off at our house. Since she is now scooting/crawling she goes for everything but her favorite thing to eat is shoes. Yes, it is gross but she finds them and thinks she needs to put them in her mouth. We are trying to teach her the word NO I think she is getting it. The problem is you say NO to her and then she turns to you with a big smile and then your heart melts.
8. She loves Care Bears and Sesame Street. Before she was born Dan bought her a Care Bear Mobile for her crib and she has always loved it. Well now that she has gotten bigger she really likes it. Once day I put her down for a nap and I thought she was a sleep then I hear this banging. So I go upstairs. She has gotten the mobile and is banging it on the crib. All the Care Bears are off of it. That was the last day she had a mobile.
9. She loves to eat people. Yes EAT PEOPLE. When she gets excited she will do one of three things she will stick out her tongue out, flap her hands and screan or she will attempt to eat you. It is her way of saying I want to play and I like you. I know it is weird but she is a UDY.
10. She is just a social baby and has to try and talk to everyone that she makes eye contact with. When we are at the store people always stop us to talk with her. She loves the attention.

Wow what a vacation. Kennedy is exhausted from playing with all of her cousins. She needs to catch up on some shut eye. Tyler, Parker and Liza were such good cousins; they did such a good job taking care of her.

We headed up to Dan's Moms house in for the 4th of July. Every year we head up there and it is a GREAT time. This year was even better because everyone in his family was there. Rick and Becky flew in from Turkey so they got to see Kennedy for the first time.
