China Part 4

Wow that trip went fast. I missed Kennedy but not as bad as I thought i would. I thought it would be painful and I wouldn't be able to accomplish much. Well i got things accomplished and was actually sad to leave. Life there is very easy going. They don't worry about things like us Americans. I hope to go back soon.
Here is a picture of the Shanghai airport.

Some people were freaked out about the Swine Flu so I had to get a picture.

China Part 3....

I have been CRAZY busy lately trying to get my clothing line up and going since i have gotten back. My blogging has slacked but hopefully I will catch up soon.

Here is the McDonald's I was talking about that was a life saver. We were so excited we put our bags in our hotel room and went straight there. When we walked in a caught a whiff we were taken back. It smelt nothing like back home. It actually made me not hungry anymore. I still ate and it actually was good. The ice cream there is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. Better than here. I actually miss my $.30 ice cream. This is why I gained 5 pounds instead of loosing 5 pounds.

Our hotel room. Don't mind the mess!! Not bad. Oh and by the way they like firm matresses here. I have slept in 5 different hotels and they are all the same. When I say firm I mean you are sleeping on wood or bricks :)

Here is some dragon fruit. Last time I was in China I had it and it was so good so we bought it to try. This time I wasn't starving becuase I had McDonalds so it didn't taste that good. It's amazing how things taste when you haven't eaten in a week.

This is Beijing Road. We went down there to buy our handbags and rolex's. I think Shenzhen had a lot more knock offs than Guangzhou. Then again I don't think we saw one American the whole time. Actually we asked and there really isn't a lot of Americans that visit there. That means a lot of American's are missing out.

Here is Shirley our friend/ translator. She was a life saver!!

We went to a grocery store while we were there. There was some american stuff and what little there was I stocked up.

Kennedy's Little Birthday Party!!

Kennedy went to her little friend Masons birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Alexis (Mason's Mom) did such a great job. It was a carnival theme and she had different booths. Like a face painter, balloon person, darts, photo station, etc. It was very cute. They had a slip n slide and a water slide. I guess I was suppose to bring a swimsuit but I didn't know that. So Kennedy borrowed some of Masons clothes. The only problem is Mason is 2 but still wears 12 month clothing. Kennedy is 20 months and wears size 4. So that is a problem. It got me excited to start thinking of something for Kennedy's birthday.
Kennedy got her face painted with a unicorn. She sat there and hardly moved. I was surprised and impressed at the same time.

Kangaroo Zoo

Kennedy and I met up with our friends Kirstin and Brielle at the Kangaroo Zoo. I heard about this place from my neighbor; she had a blast so I thought we would check it out. The girls had a blast and the Mom's got a good work out. Kennedy is still a little young to climb up the big slides so I had to help her. Wow was it hard to carry her up. Not only is she heavy but the stairs where very narrow and it was hard to get a grip. The slides are really high and I was worried I might fall.
Kennedy's BFF Brielle! They get along so well it is nice!!

China Part 2..

It has taken forever to finish blogging about china. First off I really miss China. I have no idea why I love it so much. Before we could get off the plane they had to have a health inspection. people came on in these white suits with masks and took your temperature. I was freaked out. Last thing I needed was to be in quarantine for a week.

We arrived in Shanghai and was boarding another plane to our final destination Guangzhou. We had about a 5 hour lay over so we just hung out and took it all in. Well for some reason the plane that we were suppose to be on was not working. The guy at the ticket counter said it is broken but will only be a minute. I FREAKED out. I hate flying let alone another countries aircraft. We flew Delta here but needed to fly a Chinese airline to Guangzhou. Well trying to communicate there is very hard but that is one of its charms. I love playing charades. Well I still really didn't know what happened but they put us up in a hotel and got us food (which I passed on) so we stayed in Shanghai that night. The next morning we went to the airport and it was a nightmare trying to get a ticket and explain to them we couldn't fly out. Luckily we had some people to help us translate. That flight was delayed but luckily we made it there.

My friend Shirley (English name) met us at the airport and then guided us to the hotel. When we arrived at our hotel my dreams came true. There was a McDonald's just on the side of our hotel. It was just like winning the lottery. If you have been to China you know what I mean!!! It is pretty much guaranteed you can loose 5lbs in one week being there except when you are next to a McDonald's and eat it every meal.

Also thank goodness for COKE being worldwide. You can only drink bottle water there and brush your teeth with it too. But the bottle water wasn't that good. Plus who is to say they didn't just feel it up with tap water.

Here is the view outside our hotel. It is the train and bus station. Our hotel was awesome. It was a 4 star hotel for about $60 a night. We probably paid too much for it too. Everything is negotiable there even hotel rooms.

Kennedy's Top 10..

There are several things that Kennedy does that just makes me smile. I need to write them down because I will need to remember them during her TERRIBLE 2 stage.
1. She loves to give hugs. She hit me with a screw driver on my knee and I said ouch and was rubbing it. She said "come here" and gave me a hug and then she said "ahhhhhh."
2. Kind of weird but she is scared of shiny flooring. She doesn't like to walk on it. We were at Kohl's today and the tile was very shiny and she was scared but once she got on the carpet she ran everywhere.
3. She loves the computer. She thinks she is an adult and needs to be on it. Luckily she has one of her own.
4. She loves her baby. She has several and she loves to hug and kiss them.
5. She does this funny baby talk. it is hard to explain and i need to get it on camera. she has been doing it for a long time but the older she gets the less she does it.
6. She is turning into a Daddy's Girl every morning she asks where Daddy is. She loves to ride in his truck she thinks it is the coolest thing. She also thinks every white truck is Daddy's truck and yells for Daddy every time.
7. She is VERY VERY VERY Independent. She wants to do everything herself; she doesn't need me. She is saying so many words and is understanding more and more everyday. It is fun to see her grow but it is going way too fast.
8. She loves naps and will take about a 3 hour nap everyday. She will sleep about 10 hours at night. I am trying to potty train her but I am not very consistent but she understands you need to go to the potty but she could really careless when she pees in her big girl underwear.
9. She loves to be outdoors. She likes to ride her tricycle or be pulled in the wagon. She loves hanging out with all the neighbor kids and thinks she can do what they do.
10. She LOVES the pool. she loves going down the little slide all by herself. She loves baths and showers. She is just a little water bug!!

Oh and she loves to say Hi to everyone and when I say everyone I mean EVERYONE!!!! At the store, in the car, walking just everywhere.

You Can't Take Your Eyes off Her!!!

My friend called me and I was on the phone for about 2 minutes. I thought it was weird that Kennedy was so quite so I looked for her and this is what I found.

Poor Ox was even a victim!!

Chuck E. Cheese

I watched my sisters kids for a week and on the last day we decided to go to Chuck E Cheese. We had a good time. Kennedy loved playing the games. What she loved even more is trying to play other kids games while they were playing them. The pizza tasted like cardboard but other than that it was good. I wonder if they will let me just go in there without buying pizza and just playing games?? Anybody know?

She wanted out of this car! She did not like the mouse.

She wanted to ride the horse but once she hopped on she wasn't having it.

Toys Toys and More Toys

I use to have a laundry basket full of toys in the living room. it drove me nuts to look at all the toys spilling over. I wanted to find something that could conceal the toys so I bought a trunk. I should have bought a bigger one because not all of her toys fit. So her and her cousins decided to take out all of the toys and then play in the trunk.

Fire Chief in Action Once Again...

Dan has been taking his EMT-I class at the Riverdale Fire Station. When he was there the other day he brought home Kennedy a fire hat. She of course loved it.
We are so proud of Dan. He starts the fire academy in September. He is doing awesome in school and can't wait for him to be a Fire Fighter!!

My mom took Kennedy this weekend to Bear lake for Raspberry days. It was nice to have a little bit of a break. Looks like they had a great time!!!
